Introduction

 

The 14-hour Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Mental Health First will provide you with the knowledge and skills to assist Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander adults who may be experiencing a mental health crisis or developing a mental health problem. Using an evidenced based and practical action plan developed by Aboriginal mental health specialists. This course is effective, culturally appropriate and empowering.

Meet Rosalie Kickett Your Instructor ...

Rosalie Kickett is a 57 years old Wilman, Beelya – Bibbulmun Nyoongar Yok, who has an Associate Degree in Aboriginal Mental Health and Counselling and has been working in the Mental Health and social and emotional wellbeing industry for 27 years. Rosalie has an abundance of knowledge to share and a unique approach to social and emotional well-being which focuses on the four pivotal points of wellbeing; physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual.

 

Rosalie works with individuals, families and communities providing therapeutic counselling specialising in trauma, grief and loss. She has a strong belief that helping people heal has a positive ripple effect on the greater community. Rosalie works with people from all walks of life and has tailored approaches to working with women, men, and children as well as families and communities.

 

Offering a wide range of services an Aboriginal Mental Health Practitioner/Cultural Operational Supervisor, counselling, mentor, cultural education/ awareness, Mental Health First Aid training and facilitating, workshops, one on one wellbeing sessions, Deadly Thinking train-the-trainer education and public speaking. Rosalie offers unique methods in helping people to heal, and has a spiritual approach to her work, using a relaxed method that invites people to feel cultural safe, comfortable and encourages them to stay relaxed.
